Cold-Brew Coffee

September 19, 2019 Gran

Two summers of daily iced coffee have proven the worth of the Takeya Cold-Brew coffee maker. This gadget provides an easy way to combine the coffee and water, store the cold brew in the fridge, and pour a glassful every morning.

Iced Coffee with Milk

1 cup ground coffee, medium-coarse grind (20 on the Baratza Encore grinder)
4 cups water

Pour water into the coffee maker pitcher. Put ground coffee into the infuser. Screw infuser into lid. Screw lid on pitcher.

Shake well and store in refrigerator overnight or up to 36 hours to cold brew. Remove infuser when brewing is complete.

The result is a coffee concentrate that you can pour over ice cubes for iced coffee. Or you can add 2/3 boiling water to 1/3 concentrate for hot coffee.
