Simple Syrup

December 10, 2017 Gran

It is so easy to make your own simple syrup, no need to pay exorbitant amounts for it at the grocery store.

1 cup sugar
1 cup water

Put sugar and water in a small saucepan and heat until the sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool, pour into a lidded container, and refrigerate until needed. It keeps for about a month.

If you want flavored simple syrup, add a sprig of rosemary, zest from a lemon, half a vanilla bean, or whatever to the sugar and water. Strain out the flavoring agent before storing the simple syrup.
