Molasses Butter

December 4, 2016 Gran

From Blue Apron, used in Sweet Potato & Collard Green Hash with Sunny Side-Up Eggs, Molasses Butter & Biscuits, December 23, 2015.  I was initially skeptical of the idea of molasses butter and was even going to skip making it, but Dick encouraged me to go ahead.  So glad I did—the molasses butter is amazingly delicious.  Thanks, Dick!

Upsized to make enough for a dozen biscuits.

1/4 cup molasses

1 stick butter (4 oz)

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

In a skillet combine the butter, molasses, and vinegar.  Season with salt and pepper.  Cook on medium, stirring occasionally and swirling the pan, 2 to 3 minutes, or until the mixture is bubbling and thoroughly combined.  Transfer to a small bowl.
